Welcome to our practice! I am the friendly face at the front desk. I love to find ways to help people smile and that includes building confidence to share their smile! I am happy to answer your questions, plan for appointments, help resolve concerns and make your visits positive. It is important to me that each of you enjoy a feeling of ease and confidence in our office. I have been with Dr. Mark Ashiku's office since March of 2019. I appreciate how positive the environment is here. We all work extremely well together to provide the best service for you. Our staff is very warm and inviting. I love the positive energy felt by everyone and I really appreciate the attentive care our doctor and team strive to provide, as individuals and collectively, to each patient.
My husband and I have 3 children and a fur baby named Sparky. We enjoy road-trips, cooking, crafting and spending time with friends and family.
Erika
Registered Dental Assistant
Hello my name is Erika and I have been working for Dr. Mark Ashku since 2003. I became interested in dentistry by a blind ad, “Seeking Dental Assistant, will train” it had my attention! I thought how fun and interesting. My personal dental experience was limited to a few cleanings and a couple sealants. I had no idea what I was getting myself into and quickly realized I had a lot to learn! Everything was new and foreign to me yet I had a desire to learn and understand the meaning of dentistry. Dr. Mark is an excellent teacher and was able to bring meaning to all aspect of helping folks regain a healthy mouth. I challenged myself weekly to master all tasks and commit to memory the myriad of materials that are needed for the various procedures, from a simple Composite filling (the tooth-colored kind) to a complex Implant surgery. I took several weekend classes that included Certification in Radiology, Coronal Polish, and making temporary crowns all the requirements I needed to take the State Board Exam for becoming a Registered Dental Assistant. After 1 year of on-the-job experience, I was qualified to challenge the State Board Exam! Since then, I have taken many courses of Continuing Education and have obtained a Pit and Fissure Sealant License, and most recently the Orthodontic Assistant Permit. I really can’t believe I have been working for going on 18 years now, it has flown by. It is a challenging job but I think that those are often times the most rewarding. Dr. Mark applies his 39 years of dental knowledge and combines it with new techniques, materials, and technology to provide adaptive treatment for his patients. I find it tremendously rewarding to be part of that kind of care and team that truly makes a difference in the lives of each and every one of our valued patients. Even after all this time I look forward to the next day!
When I'm not at work I am enjoying the great outdoors from backpacking to hiking or playing in the garden.
